松吉は妻の光子と組んで旅回りのお座敷ショーで生計を立てていた。尼僧姿の光子を縛り上げて●すという残酷なショーは土地の客を異常に興奮させた。しかし胸を病んでいた光子に先立たれ、松吉は根なし草の生活を送っていた。憲兵隊上がりのボスの世話で、どうにかまともな生活ができるようになった松吉は、死んだ妻と生き写しの女・辰子と知り合う。女には結核で死期の迫っている絵描きの夫がいた。松吉はこの夫のために、目の前で辰子を地獄のような緊縛責めで拷問することになるのだが…。
마츠요시는 아내의 광자와 어울려 여행을 위한 다다미 쇼에서 생계를 세웠다. 수녀 모습의 광자를 묶어서 한다는 잔혹한 쇼는 토지의 손님을 비정상적으로 흥분시켰다. 그러나 가슴을 앓고 있던 광자에 앞서 마츠요시는 뿌리 없는 풀의 생활을 보내고 있었다. 헌병대 오름의 보스를 돌보며, 어떻게든 괜찮은 생활을 할 수 있게 된 마츠요시는, 죽은 아내와 살아있는 여자·타츠코와 알게 된다. 여자는 결핵으로 사기의 다가오는 그림 그리기 남편이 있었다. 마츠요시는 이 남편을 위해서, 눈앞에서 타츠코를 지옥과 같은 긴박 비난으로 고문하게 되는 것이지만…
