神田夫妻は結婚40年。妻・ルリ子は専業主婦、夫・裕昭は県庁職員として多忙な中も夫婦で協力して息子二人を育ててきた。そんな中、長女に子供が生まれた。待望の初孫である。これを機会に裕昭は夫婦の時間をゆっくりと過ごそうと仕事を辞めて、夫婦で孫の面倒を見る傍ら、余った時間で久々の温泉旅行に出かけた…。久しぶりの温泉旅行で家族風呂に入り、二人は40年続いた愛を確かめ合うのだった。
간다 부부는 결혼 40년. 아내·루리코는 전업 주부, 남편·유아키는 현청 직원으로서 바쁜 가운데도 부부로 협력해 아들 둘을 키워 왔다. 그런 가운데 장녀에게 아이가 태어났다. 대망의 첫손자이다. 이것을 기회에 유아키는 부부의 시간을 천천히 보내려고 일을 그만두고, 부부로 손자의 번거로움을 보는 옆, 남은 시간에 오랜만의 온천 여행에 나갔다… 오랜만의 온천 여행으로 가족 목욕탕에 들어갔고, 두 사람은 40년간 이어진 사랑을 확인하는 것이었다.
